a:This crimson songket cloth has additional patterns woven in golden threads. The Cili figure stands elegantly on a geometric base, holding open umbrellas in both hands while three butterflies float overhead.b:This red royal lamak, with additional patterns woven in silver threads, shows three small Cili standing on separate plinths and a circular frame of shimmering balls above their heads.c:The songket pattern on the skirt-cloth (kamben) of the shadow puppet figure of Hanuman or Bima ingeniously replicates the black-and-white checkerboard cloth called poleng, characteristic for both characters. The figure stands on a geometric strip of triangles like the protective gigin barong, while the edges on both sides are encased in black strips. A field of white above the figure’s head is filled with stars and squares.
