Professional Development for Teachers: The Arts of the Americas, Part 5
Join Johnson Museum of Art educators Maryterese Pasquale-Bowen, Carina D’Urso, and Carol Hockett for our professional development series devoted to the arts of the Americas. This session will look at depictions of the western United States from a variety of perspectives, highlighting Indigenous experiences. Participants will engage with the work of Wendy Redstar, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, and Carm Little Turtle, among others. Teachers of all disciplines and grade levels are welcome!
Free registration with credit is through TST BOCES Frontline. For more information or to sign up, email Carol Hockett at firstname.lastname@example.org.
A Zoom version of each workshop will be offered from 4–5PM. Teachers and other professionals can choose to attend the same workshop in person at the Museum from 5:15–6:15PM, with the opportunity to see the art in an intimate setting. Free parking at the Museum is available at that time.
Save the date! “Part 6: American Art and Immigrants” will be held May 2.
This workshop was made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
