Join Johnson Museum of Art educators Maryterese Pasquale-Bowen and Carol Hockett for our fall professional development series focused on the theme of war and peace.
At this second session, we will explore the theme of architecture and power in the Middle East through the work of Iranian artist Shahpour Pouyan, on view in the exhibition Winter in Paradise. With a combination of virtual reality, sculpture, and drawings, Pouyan mourns the loss of architecture and culture in the Middle East, examining the ramifications of ongoing conflict.
Free registration with credit is through TST BOCES Frontline. For more information or to sign up, email Carol Hockett at cih2@cornell.edu.
A Zoom version of each workshop will be offered from 4–5PM. Teachers and other professionals can choose to attend the same workshop in person at the Museum from 5:15–6:15PM, with the opportunity to see the art in an intimate setting. Free parking at the Museum is available at that time.
