Join Johnson Museum of Art educators Maryterese Pasquale-Bowen and Carol Hockett for our fall professional development series focused on the theme of war and peace.
Taking inspiration from the current exhibition Colonial Crossings: Art, Identity, and Belief in the Spanish Americas, at this session we will explore how the invasion of the Spanish and their interaction with the Indigenous populations influenced artistic expression as well as the concepts of racial identity, spirituality, and class. Teachers of all disciplines and grade levels are welcome!
Free registration with credit is through TST BOCES Frontline. For more information or to sign up, email Carol Hockett at cih2@cornell.edu.
A Zoom version of each workshop will be offered from 4–5PM. Teachers and other professionals can choose to attend the same workshop in person at the Museum from 5:15–6:15PM, with the opportunity to see the art in an intimate setting. Free parking at the Museum is available at that time.
