Explore personal and cultural identity through an art-inspired collage process at this free workshop, open to all. Lucille Junkere is a research-based visual artist based in the United Kingdom and Jamaica. In her interdisciplinary practice, she focuses on the materiality of textiles and pigments in the contexts of resilience, healing, and cultural reconnection.
Participants will meet in Appel Lobby before exploring the galleries independently to gather inspiration for their collages (and are encouraged to visit our online collection database prior to the workshop to see works not currently on view). The group will then convene in the Cox Studio to begin the creative process, which can include personal photos, postcards, or other materials brought from home in addition to materials provided.
Space is limited; email eas8@cornell.edu to register.
