Fourth generation member of one of Japan’s most prestigious lineages of bamboo art, Tanabe Takeo is the son of Tanabe Chikuunsai III. Still relatively young, he has received many accolades, and his work ranges from traditional bamboo baskets such as this, to more organic sculptural forms that combine a variety of materials.
