This carved Mezcala greenstone figure stands with arms bent at the elbows and held in front of the rounded abdomen. The legs are separated, and the head is well set-off from the body by a narrow neck. The facial features are sharply geometric, with prominent eyebrows and lines at the side of the face indicating a hairstyle or stylized ears. The eyes and mouth are only roughly indicated by pecked areas. The figure may represent a pregnant female since there is a slit for (female) genitalia just below the rounded belly.
