Visiting scholar Sharifa “Elja” Sharifi is an Institute of International Education’s (IIE) Artist’s Protection Fund Fellow. At this special talk, Elja will offer insights into the research behind the exhibition The Poetic World of Persian Art.
Focusing on painting during the Timurid and Safavid periods, Elja will explore connections between these artworks, Persian history, and literature, and discuss works of art in famous Persian poetry books including the Shahnama of Firdausi and the Khamsa of Nizami. This talk is free and open to all.
