Join an artist featured in the special exhibition Here & Now: Artists of Central New York for a brief gallery talk followed by a hands-on art-making workshop inspired by their creative practice.
In this workshop, Daisy Wiley will share information about the origins of Victorian salmon fishing flies, their historical environmental impact, and current ways to reimagine these objects. Participants will create their own fly using locally sourced materials and are encouraged to bring their own, such as feathers, fur, and yarn.
This workshop is beginner-friendly but limited to participants age 14 and older.
Made possible in part by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
