Join local artist and educator Cody Curran for a hands-on clay workshop exploring self-care through the act of mindful creation. While demonstrating basic hand-building skills, Cody will suggest several projects, such as figurines, flowerpots, pendants, and jewelry dishes. Participants are also invited to make their own designs with support as needed. This workshop uses air-dry clay, so finished pieces will go home on the day, and can be finished with acrylic paints at home, but will not be food-safe.
All ages are welcome, but children under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Please note that the afternoon session is for Cornell students only.
This workshop is part of the Johnson Museum’s Art and Wellness series, made possible by a generous member of the Museum’s Advisory Council. Through art-making, participants can develop mindfulness skills to reduce stress and bolster their mental well-being.
