Open Tuesday–Sunday, 10AM–5PM (closed Monday). Admission for everyone is always free.

Closed on Monday (11/25), Wednesday (11/27), and Thursday (11/28)
Winter Break: Closed December 23, 2024–January 2, 2025
Special hours are posted here during major holidays and Cornell break periods.
Nonflash photography is permitted for personal use, except where noted. Flash photography, video, and tripods are not permitted for visitors. Any food, drink / water bottles, backpacks, large bags, and umbrellas must be left in the lobby where you entered. Small lockers are available for free use.
Directions
Driving: From Route 79, turn on Stewart Avenue. Turn right at University Avenue and go up the hill to the Museum. Turn right into our metered parking lot.
Plan your visit to Cornell for complete directions on getting to campus, or find directions using the street address “114 Central Avenue, Ithaca, NY 14853” on Google Maps. We are located at the intersection of Central Avenue and University Avenue on the Cornell campus.
Local Bus: Ithaca’s TCAT bus service stops at Milstein Hall and Goldwin Smith Hall, short walks from the Museum. Visit the TCAT website for up-to-date information and schedules.
By Foot: The Museum is located at the top of Libe Slope, across the Arts Quad. Click here for campus maps.
Parking
The Pay-by-License Plate pay station lot next to the Museum is for our visitors only. There are a total of twelve (12) parking spaces plus one (1) accessible parking space in our lot.
On Tuesdays–Sundays from 7:30AM to 5PM, all visitors parking in the metered Museum lot MUST register at either Museum desk (through the main entrance or the wing) and sign out when they leave. There is a three-hour limit.
We’re on Parkmobile! You can create a Parkmobile account using a desktop computer, the mobile app, or a phone. Our Parkmobile zone number is 4104.

After 5PM and weekends
For Museum events after 5PM on weekdays and all day/evening Saturdays and Sundays there are no parking restrictions other than accessible spaces and where noted. For after hours events you may park in the Forest Home Parking Garage beneath the Human Ecology Building (HEB), about a ten-minute walk from the Museum. Please observe all posted signs carefully when parking.
Accessibility
We welcome everyone at the Johnson Museum.
The Johnson Museum of Art is committed to providing programming and excellent museum experiences for visitors with different abilities. The building is accessible for people with a range of disabilities, and our staff and receptionists are available to insure your comfort and opportunities for education and enjoyment.
For mobility-impaired visitors, a wheelchair is available in the lobby. There is one accessible parking space in the Museum parking lot. Accessible restrooms are located in the basement level via the wing elevator. Service animals are welcome. Trained staff members are available to provide tours to children and adults with disabilities. ASL interpreters are available with advance request for our lectures, tours, and other events.
