Huang Jun, from Suzhou, was a follower of the orthodox painters Huang Ding (1660-1730) and Wang Shimin (1592-1680). Many such artists consciously emulated the traditional literati aesthetic in their works. This album consists of twelve landscape paintings, each done in the manner of an earlier artist. The short inscription on this landscape states that the artist painted it in the style of the Yuan dynasty master, Ni Zan (1301-1374).
