This Manteño ceramic lid has a prominent hollow handle, with a stylized crab design on top. This vessel is burnished brownware with some fireclouding. This is not a stamp seal since the design is on the same side as the handle. Crabs and other crustaceans were frequently eaten, providing a vital source of protein to prehistoric populations.
