Our summer reading series continues as Nancy Green and Maryterese Pasquale-Bowen take us on a great art-based reading adventure together.

Chasing Aphrodite: The Hunt for Looted Antiquities at the World’s Richest Museum is a riveting exposé of the J. Paul Getty Museum’s knowing participation in the trade of illegal antiquities over decades. The authors, Jason Felch and Ralph Frammolino, journalists for the Los Angeles Times, interview investigators and insiders to reveal how the practices of former antiquities curator Marion True and a larger international network of criminals, collectors, patrons, and museums eventually led to major shifts in attitudes about collecting Classical works of art.
