When you visit
The Museum has five gallery floors:
Floor 5 (main entrance): Asian art, plus spectacular views of Ithaca and Cayuga Lake.
Floors 1 & 2 (main entrance, above the lobby): European and American art, plus a mezzanine level between the two floors that has a display of Pre-Columbian works.
Floor 1L (main entrance, below the lobby): current exhibition (Bartels Gallery)
Floor 2L (below the lobby): Visible storage, the Citrin Photography Center, African art, and current exhibitions (Gold, Moak, Class of 1953, and Schaenen Galleries)
In the Appel Lobby (main entrance), bottled water is available free of charge. A Keurig brewer provides a variety of hot drinks (coffee, tea, and hot chocolate) for $1.00.
Floor 2L connects the wing to the main building. In addition to a separate entrance, the wing's main public floor features a lecture room, a workshop studio, and gallery spaces for exhibitions.
Restrooms are available on Floor 2L in the main building and on the basement level of the wing. Water fountains are on Floors 2 and 2L in the main building, and on the basement level of the wing.
Events After 5 PM
For events and programs that begin after 5:00 p.m., or any that are taking place in the wing's lecture room, visitors should enter through the wing rather than the main building.
For events after 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays, visitors can also park at the Martha Van Rensselaer Hall parking garage. The garage is off Forest Home Drive, about a five-minute walk east of the Museum.
