Kneeling Shaman

Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD)

A shaman was a person with mystical powers who could help to protect people against evil spirits, sickness, or suffering. A clay shaman like this one would have been placed in a tomb to protect the spirit of the person who was buried there.
