Heavenly Earth: Early Chinese Ceramics from the Shatzman Collection

A superb collection of ceramics dating from the Neolithic period to the fourteenth century, highlighting the technical and aesthetic sophistication of southern Chinese high-fired stoneware vessels with green glazes. Many of these objects were made for burial in tombs, where they would supply the needs of the deceased in the afterlife, and facilitate earthly communication with heavenly spirits.
