This exhibition highlights the important contribution to the Johnson Museum made by Paul Ehrenfest, Cornell Class of 1932, who passed away in February 2004. Over a period of three decades of giving, Ehrenfest's keen eye and steadfast generosity put in place many of the most important works in the Museum's print collection. Selections range from engravings and woodcuts by Albrecht Dürer and his Renaissance contemporaries to twentieth-century German Expressionist woodcuts, lithographs by Wassily Kandinsky, works by Ashcan School artists John Sloan and Peggy Bacon, and twentieth-century Japanese prints.
