This exhibition, the subject of a Spring 2013 seminar cotaught by the Johnson’s Nancy Green, will examine the aesthetic influence of Far Eastern art on Western art from the late 1800s to the present.

This exhibition will feature more than fifty Vietnamese ceramics from the Dong Son culture (700–43 BC) through the seventeenth century, from the collection assembled by the eminent nuclear physicist John R. Menke (1919–2009).
Opening September 14
Laylah Ali made more than eighty paintings on paper involving strange, green-headed beings of indeterminate age, gender, race, and meaning. Over forty of these works have been gathered for the first time in this exhibition, organized by the Williams College Museum of Art.
