The Johnson Museum offers internships in all departments to Cornell sophomores, juniors, and seniors enrolled for the full academic year.

The positions pay $8.50 per hour; 10 hours per week maximum. Work-study applicants are strongly preferred.

Applications and job descriptions are available online (Adobe PDFs) and in the Museum's Appel Lobby (main building).

For 2013-14, internships are offered in the following departments:

  • Modern and Contemporary Art
  • Prints, Drawings, and Photographs (Print Room)
  • Asian Art
  • Preparator/Installation
  • Digital Photography Studio
  • School and Family Education Programs
  • University Education Programs
  • Public Education Programs

Prior museum experience is not required; coursework in art history is useful and preferred for curatorial and education positions. Students who anticipate having heavy course loads should not apply since interns are expected to keep regular hours.

All applications must be received by Monday, April 1; interviews will be held in April. Final decisions will be announced no later than May 3.
