Sumarsam, a scholar, puppeteer, and professor of music at Wesleyan University, and guest artists will perform accompanied by the Cornell Gamelan Ensemble, directed by Chris Miller.

A special installation of Indonesian dance masks and shadow puppets from the Museum’s collection is on view in the fifth-floor gallery for Southeast Asian art. Focusing on gifts by the late Cornell professor Benedict R. O’G. Anderson, the display was cocurated by Laurie Margot Ross, former Visiting Fellow in the Southeast Asia Program, and the Johnson’s Ellen Avril.
