From the decadence of Oscar Wilde to Victorian high fashion, transport yourself to Whistler’s era at this special salon evening of art and music, in conjunction with the exhibition The Touch of the Butterfly

Curator Nancy Green will introduce the themes of the exhibition and stories behind it. Professor Ellis Hanson, Department of English, will explore the decadence of Whistler, Oscar Wilde, and their circles. Amanda Denham, a recent graduate of Cornell's MA program in Apparel Design, will detail the high fashion of the Victorian period, and music grad student Richard Valitutto will discuss and perform musical nocturnes on the piano.
