The Johnson Museum’s Annual Fund, above all else, allows us
to continue to offer FREE admission to the
public, six days a week. It also makes it possible for the Museum to serve more than nine
thousand K–12 schoolchildren from
more than fifty schools across central New York, through OMNI (Objects and
their Makers—New Insights) and many other specialized programs.
The Annual Fund makes it possible for the Museum to offer a full schedule of events each year—from Art-Full Family Days with storytellers, Bob the Letter Man, and Mrs. McPuppet, to adult workshops in a variety of artistic disciplines, extended visits by distinguished artists, concerts by student musicians, and our annual holiday party in December. Thousands of children, students, and adults attend these events, and the Museum becomes a place where they are relaxed and at home.
The Annual Fund provides support for our special exhibitions. These exhibitions—more than twenty every year—focus on different aspects of the world of art, either a specific artist, or period, or medium, or theme. They are often accompanied by a catalogue written by the organizing curator, as well as by lectures, concerts, and other related events.
Annual unrestricted support helps us pay the salaries of our staff members, from security officers to curators, educators, and administrators in finance, personnel, grants, membership, development, publications, and publicity. Without them, we could not open our doors or offer our visitors anything once our doors were open.
We are deeply grateful for your continued support. To make a gift to the Johnson Museum’s annual fund please visit Giving to Cornell.
